Description

New platinum(II) bis-chelate Pt(L1-5)2 complexes derived from benzofuran-2-carbaldehyde thiosemicarbazones (HL1-5) were synthezised and characterized by FT-IR, ESI-Mass and NMR (1H, 13C) spectroscopy. The molecular structure of the compound HL4 was determined using single crystal X-ray crystallographic technique. Cytotoxic effect of all the compounds was determined against six human tumor cell lines: H460, HuTu80, DU145, MCF-7, M14 and HT29. The complexes Pt(L1)2, Pt(L3)2 and Pt(L5)2 demonstrated to be more cytotoxic at low concentrations (IC50=365.27 µM) against these cell lines.
