Organization profile

The Structures Laboratory provides an infrastructure for research on the behavior of structures, based on the observation of tests of structural elements, such as beams, slabs, walls, walls, columns, piles and connections.

The objectives of the Structures Laboratory are threefold:

To be a platform for the development of structural engineering research.
To serve as basic infrastructure for the teaching of subjects related to structural engineering.
To support the industry.
Tests
Tests on full-scale structural elements are carried out in the Laboratory:

Flexural tests on beams.
Flexural tests on slabs
Cyclic and monotonic lateral load tests on walls.
Flexure tests on connections
Energy absorption tests on fiber concrete (beams, square and circular panels, and Barcelona method)
Compression tests on masonry piles
Compression tests on masonry walls
Compression testing of high-strength concrete cylinders
Modulus of elasticity and Poisson's ratio tests
Infrastructure
The laboratory meets the requirements of national and international standards. It has a reaction slab and wall, a system of metallic mechanical devices, and a bridge crane, among other elements.

Equipment and technology
The laboratory has modern equipment from world-renowned companies. In addition, it is managed by a group of highly experienced professionals and technicians, which guarantees the quality of the information collected in the tests and the good processing of the results.
