The scientific background that the industrial engineer must have includes the statistical analysis of errors in measurements, the verification of physical laws in the everyday world and the application of the scientific method. In this sense, this laboratory introduces the student to the world of measurements from a formal point of view. For this purpose, real measurements are taken and the data are analyzed using motion sensors connected by transducers to computers where motion graphs are obtained. From these, data such as the acceleration of gravity can be calculated and theories such as Galileo's can be demonstrated that would otherwise be presented only conceptually.
