Research interests
Professor of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Systems of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (Brazil). Doctor (2012, UFSC) and Master (2008, UFSC) in Engineering and Knowledge Management and Industrial Engineering (2004, Escuela Militar de Ingeniería-Bolivia). He has 15 years of experience in the area of simulation and scenario forecasting in Science, Technology and Innovation and has been a researcher/visiting professor at the Universität Bremen (Germany), the University of Tampere (Finland) and the Autonomous University of Madrid ( Spain). His Ph.D. was co-advised by Duke University (USA), he has taken courses in the area of simulation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA) and in the area of science, technology and innovation at the University of Tampere ( Finland). He was an innovation management consultant for the Federation of Industries of Santa Catarina (FIESC) and has experience in projects in the Energy, Software and Telecom sectors financed by the Santa Catarina Research Support Foundation (FAPESC), the 7th Framework Program of the European Union, CAPES-Brazil and KACST-Saudi Arabia. He has been an exhibitor and speaker at events and congresses around the world, including the VI National Congress of Innovation, an activity organized by the Lima Chamber of Commerce and Concytec in 2014. He currently coordinates the Group for Innovation and Sustainability in Renewable Energies (SINERGIA ) where he advises Master's and Doctoral studies related to the simulation and modeling of the diffusion of new clean technologies in the Energy Sector, in particular, solar photovoltaic, wind, biogas and electric vehicles.
