Contributions of Lacanian psychoanalysis to feminist theories

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

Since its emergence, psychoanalysis has been an important source of ideas for feminist theorists, and in particular the work of psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan. However, there is currently no study in Peru of the opinion of Lacanian psychoanalysts and feminist academics on this subject. This research, which will have a qualitative character based on in-depth interviews with representatives of the discipline, has the purpose of identifying the contributions that Lacanian psychoanalysis has made to feminist theorization. Through the results we want to contribute to a greater understanding of phenomena such as changes in gender roles and identity in our time, as well as problems such as violence against women and resistance to gender equity.
