Diagnosis of habitability conditions in temporary emergency modules.Three case studies in Peru

In Peru, temporary emergency housing presents environmental, social and economic problems. In environmental matters, no studies have been found on the impacts of the materials used in the construction of housing. Socially, the socio-cultural characteristics of the inhabitants are not usually contemplated; and economically, they generally represent a high cost to the State, due to lack of planning. This project, which is executed in agreement with the University of Bath (United Kingdom), seeks to diagnose current models of emergency housing modules to propose improvements in existing and new prototypes that respond to sustainability conditions, as a contribution to the organization of a comprehensive response plan to natural phenomena. The case studies will be carried out in La Libertad, Arequipa and Iquitos.
