Prototype design of low-cost image recognition for stimulation in children with visual impairment

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

According to a study on disability problems in Peru, conducted by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), the visual ranks second among the disabilities that affect the population. Considering that these difficulties detract from people's quality of life, the present study suggests that, by using devices with intelligent hybrid systems, their abilities to interact with the environment can be improved in children with visual impairment or low vision. Hence, this research aims to design and develop a prototype low-cost device that, using hybrid systems, helps stimulate the auditory and touch senses.
