Project Details
Description
The objective of this work is to use computer vision techniques based on data captured by cameras, combining them with the resources offered by artificial intelligence, thus achieving a significant boost in the automation of production processes and their follow-up, monitoring and risk control. Every crisis always offers an opportunity and that is how this process of technological development, begun a few years ago, now offers us, in the midst of the pandemic crisis, to use it to monitor the construction of the new building of the University Wellbeing Center of the University of Lima and the new buildings such as the Technological Innovation Center, to avoid face-to-face work and at the same time achieve an adequate construction process. In this way, it will be possible to develop a prediction model that allows the progress of the project to be monitored automatically and constantly during its execution. Contributing to consolidate in this way our University at the forefront of technological advancement.
The relevant role of construction in the economic reactivation of the country is known. However, its positive impact is increasingly limited by delays, overvaluations and constructive errors of various kinds. This research raises the use of Artificial Intelligence as a necessary tool to overcome these inconveniences.
Its use as a means of follow-up, control and monitoring of the various construction stages, will allow us an evaluation -in real time- of these processes, allowing us the timely correction of errors and the improvement of the works. It is proposed, in this research, the use of cameras that record images and videos, which will be used as training data to an Artificial Intelligence system based on neural networks and from this training the system will be able -automatically- to identify the differences with respect to a project baseline, allowing in this way to constantly and automatically monitor and monitor the progress of the building process, providing valuable information to the different actors involved in the project, allowing timely corrections that will result in in lower costs and delivery times on time.
