MONIPEZAPP: monitoring prototype to optimize the artisanal capture processes, in real time, in order to improve the productivity of the artisanal fisherman in the creek cove

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

The MonipezApp project seeks to develop a system that allows the artisanal fisherman to know the location of schools in the fishing areas, as well as to record the fishing production and guarantee the sustainable use of hydrobiological resources. It is based on the Internet of Things (IoT) and will use aerial and amphibious drones, and a sonar to detect schools of fish. Likewise, artificial intelligence techniques will be applied for image analysis and Bigdata data analytics. The work will be carried out in four phases: a) participatory analysis of system requirements; b) testing and calibration of equipment; c) deployment and testing of the integrated system in the fishing zone; and d) systematization of information and transfer of this technology to artisanal fishermen.
