Perception of insecurity: determinants and narratives

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

This project proposes a qualitative and quantitative study of the perception of insecurity that seeks to discover the causes and understand their training process based on experiences and characteristics of their victims, the interaction between the individual and their community (social capital and social disorder) , of the individual and the perception of his authorities (especially the police). The perception of insecurity is also constructed from fears displaced from other fields of life. That makes its measurement can be direct (ask for the feared criminal facts) but also represent a latent concept of insecurity that is channeled through fear of crime.
