Prototype proposal for the adsorption of CO2 generated in cement industries

Project: Research

Project Details

This project proposes the development of a prototype for the adsorption of CO2 carbon dioxide as a low cost mitigation alternative to the problem represented by the greenhouse gases generated by the cement industry in the production of clinker. For this, it is planned to synthesize metal-organic networks in the laboratory, taking advantage of their high surface area, their porosity and chemical stability, which outlines them as suitable for this purpose. Solvothermal and electrochemical deposition methods will be used for synthesis with titanium and copper matrices, characterized by techniques such as DRX, FTIR, SEM and TEM. Likewise, the work contemplates studying the adsorption capacity, as well as the kinetics that govern this phenomenon.
