Dada la coyuntura actual, en donde los sistemas de salud pública requieren del oxígeno en las cantidades y calidades adecuadas, nos motiva por buscar otras alternativas para acceder a este recurso y otra razón es porque las actuales tecnologías demandan condiciones de operación como temperaturas muy bajas (-160 ºC) y presiones muy altas (50 bares), a la vez de una inversión en equipos e instalaciones que sólo lo justifica, los grandes volúmenes de producción.
Como contraparte a esta exigencia, se investigará nuevos materiales adsorbentes como los MOFs (Metal Organic Framework) para la captación selectiva del O2 del aire hasta alcanzar un grado de concentración para un uso en particular. Esta investigación también predefinirá una ruta para la síntesis de estos materiales a base de Mg o Cu con la identificación de los ligantes orgánicos y las sales metálicas en el medio adecuado, y su caracterización estructural sustentará el alcance de la meta propuesta

Description

Given the current situation, where public health systems require oxygen in the appropriate quantities and qualities, it motivates us to seek other alternatives to access this resource. Another reason is because current technologies demand operating conditions such as very low temperatures (-160 ºC) and very high pressures (50 bars), as well as an investment in equipment and facilities that is only justified by large production volumes.
As a counterpart to this requirement, new adsorbent materials such as MOFs (Metal Organic Framework) will be investigated for the selective capture of O2 from the air until reaching a degree of concentration for a particular use. The elaboration of these in the suitable means with presence of Mg or Cu united to an organic network and later structurally characterized will sustain the reach of the proposed goal.
