In Peru, the last decade of the twentieth century marked the emergence of digital journalism and the modernization of traditional media; However, there are not many works aimed at describing the evolution of digital media in the last 28 years. Precisely, this research will analyze the use and impact of Twitter, streaming video and digital research platforms in the Lima virtual press, during the corruption scandal that broke out in the country in 2018. By analyzing the content of the news and in-depth interviews with web journalists, it is suggested that these media, in addition to source and channel, are redefining the role of journalism in Peru in situations of political and social instability.
