El valor de la constitución en la formación y práctica de la ética profesional del abogado: apuntes en torno al caso peruano

This research analyzes the content and scope of the lawyer’s professional ethics based on its inescapable link with the Constitution and its values. Thus, five thematic lines are addressed that provide consistency to the evidence and projection of the relationship between professional ethics in the exercise of legal work and the constitutional charter: 1) the binding nature of the social function of the lawyer, 2) the presence of constitutional values in the lawyer’s professional ethics, 3) the lawyer’s professional ethics in the current context of democratic crisis and the need to build a minimum and sustainable legal culture in society, 4) the presence of lawyers in high-level decision-making in public administration, and 5) the responsibility of law schools in providing professional training with ethics. In this sense, it is concluded that the professional ethics of lawyers require the integration of constitutional values into their cognitive, practical, and educational spheres, since the latter share the goals of strengthening the rule of law, democracy, and justice.
