Abstract
The integration of artificial intelligence into higher education in Latin America represents a crucial opportunity to transform the educational landscape in a context of constant change. This research aimed to explore the processes and challenges associated with this integration over a ten-year horizon, using conversational artificial intelligence itself as a source. A qualitative methodological approach was adopted with a non-experimental design, structured in four phases that incorporate strategic foresight techniques by Godet (2007), scenario building by Schwartz (1996), and elements of Inayatullah (2008). The results identify key factors to prioritize in this transition: Skills development, improved educational quality, assessment challenges, academic performance, and cultural diversification. The conclusions emphasize the need for an educational model that not only strengthens technical training but also promotes the comprehensive development of students, fostering an inclusive ecosystem. Likewise, there is a need to deepen research on equity in the integration of artificial intelligence, as well as training strategies for teachers and students, so that they assume an active role as agents of change in their regional environment.
