Abstract

The history of radio has so many scenarios that it is very difficult to find a comprehensive bibliography that addresses the issues of technology, owners, music programs, newscasts, broadcasters, radio soap operas, distance education, pirated or unlicensed stations, advertising, among other relative aspects. to this means of communication in Peru. For this reason, the panorama studied by Emilio Bustamante is important and valuable as complete information, and can also be an incentive for new research on this audiovisual medium. The book begins by recounting the emergence of radio, in the 1920s, and then exposes its subsequent transformation from an elite medium to a mass media, going through its Golden Age, in the middle of the 20th century, the failure of the experiment carried out. by the Revolutionary Government of the Armed Forces; and concludes with the study of the last two decades of chaotic expansion, the formation of new networks and corporations, as well as the development of popular radio.
