Abstract

This study describes the perception of the work environment of female engineering graduates with nine and twelve months of experience in the STEM field. The approach is qualitative with a phenomenological design since the phenomenon of inequality for women in the work environment is analyzed. Fifteen female engineers who graduated from one public and two private universities were interviewed. This study has shown that female engineers face a series of adversities (gender filters, devaluation of their talent, and sexual harassment at work) created by an unfriendly environment that doesn't allow them to develop in the workplace.
