Abstract

The populist discourse has found in social networks a great ally for the dissemination of messages. The purpose of this research was to analyze the impact of populist political messages on social networks Facebook and Twi!er among young voters in the city of Lima. We sought to identify through probabilistic surveys that were stratified by socioeconomic levels, if young people tend to accept the populist statements of the le" and right manifested in social networks. In a second stage, through an experimental methodology, we sought to show the types of interaction against fake news and real news loaded with information related to populist issues. The results of the investigation showed a high acceptance of populist speeches and statements from the le" and from the right among the young people of Lima, as well as the tendency to interact with fake news on social networks loaded with populist content.
