Abstract
This study addresses the low productivity in a Peruvian textile SME, proposing an improvement through the application of Lean Manufacturing, highlighting the relevance of the textile sector in the Peruvian economy and its quality and efficiency challenges. The objective is to implement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma and specific Lean tools: Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to identify bottlenecks, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) to reduce downtime and improve machine efficiency, Statistical Process Control (SPC) to control product quality and Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) to optimize space and production times. Using the Six Sigma methodology (DMAIC) and simulations, the impact of these techniques was evaluated. The results show significant improvements in efficiency and quality, with an increase in t h e productivity indicator from 86.6% to 93.3% and a notable reduction in the scrap rate from 16.40% to 12.00%. The application of Lean Manufacturing tools proves to be an effective methodology for improving productivity and quality in textile production.
