Abstract
Applying the concept of social capital, the author carries out an exploratory investigation in which he verifies that the people of Lima continue to establish their links due to the proximity between them. This is clearly seen in the predominance of family-type trust, the absence of a body of norms that serve as a common thread between the spaces traveled by social actors, and the supremacy of close relationships; Due to the fact that formal institutions have not managed to penetrate sufficiently in the daily life or in the matters of greater importance of a significant group of the members of our society.
