Resumen
The objective of this research was to determine the key variables that characterize the Peruvian CrossFit market, as well as the social actors that drive it. Based on an exploratory and descriptive design, a structural analysis (a technique typical of French strategic foresight) was carried out with the help of a panel of seven experts with knowledge of the studied system and the specialized tool MICMAC (Matrix of Cross Impacts Multiplication Applied to a Classification). The results identified the economic growth of the fitness market, the CrossFit community and the fitness culture as the most sensitive variables of the system. The social actors with the most influence turned out to be CrossFit HQ, CrossFit boxes, sports coaches and the media. The key variables are strategically linked, as they reinforce each other and their development could benefit from the actions executed by the most influential stakeholders. Any strategic planning effort must approach the CrossFit issue from a systemic perspective. This study constitutes a starting point for the planning and design of future scenarios of the system's medium and long-term behaviour.
