Resumen
The aim of this article is to propose a methodology that allows
for speculative reflection on a technological praxis of the commons. Contemporary efforts to imagine an alternative future to the capitalist order
have produced a wide variety of proposals. These efforts aim not only to
improve democratic self-governance but also to consider these concepts
as models of self-governance capable of generating new forms of postcapitalist meaning. This includes new forms of relationship between production, nature, and the use of time, as well as the creation and adaptation
of technologies such as blockchain, basic income, and community currencies. Although there are semiotic studies on technologies, the specific examination of commons technologies as agents of change in future social
organization is lacking. Therefore, this article seeks to fill the gap in semiotic research on the role of commons technologies in conceiving an alternative future. To achieve this, Greimasian or structural semiotic perspectives on technology and tools were first reviewed. Subsequently, a methodological proposal was developed to discuss the role of these technologies in the construction of a post-capitalist future, understanding the commons as community-based and identifying practices.
