Resumen

ABSTRACT Knowledge is the key competitive factor embedded in the products and processes of organizations, and therefore need to be identified and managed. Projects are a mechanism that organizations have to achieve strategic objectives and are managed through sets of processes in different areas, many of which are knowledge intensive. The objective of this work was to verify in practice the Critical Success Factors in projects (CSF) considering knowledge as an important part of the project and process management. The research was a qualitative approach and methodology adopted was the case study, with the rescue and organizing data collected during business consulting projects executed in three companies in Santa Catarina. It is evident in the results that a proper identification of CSF with the practical application of knowledge management in knowledge-intensive processes that comprise project management, increase the probability of success. As the main empirical contribution, this study showed how process management happens in practice in the context of Santa Catarina, with emphasis on the analysis of CSF, and knowledge-intensive processes.
