N2 - The prehispanic benchmark and polyacroasis are two important features of Octavio Paz' poetry book La estación violenta. The intercultural poetry of the Mexican poet implies dialogues (not free from conflicts) between European and Amerindian cultures. This implies the operation of four levels: the language, the literary structure, the symbolic-figurative structures and the worldview. Poems like "El cántaro roto" and "Piedra de sol" are examples of polyacroasis, the proceeding in which the speaker addresses different types of hearers, and this feature allows him to have a dialogic discourse and influence powerfully over each hearer's conduct.
